Introduction to the Sciences
Meow students! My name is Razzmatazz Poisson and I am your teacher today. Today's class is Introduction to the Sciences.
Science means knowledge. It comes from the Latin word scientia. Science answers the question how and why things work. Science is important because it gives us the ability to make our lives more comfortable and to change our environment. It has given us technology that gives us the ability to make tools, build things and harness sources of energy. It has also given us insight into our lives and the world around us. Many wonderful inventions and discoveries have occurred because of science.
Science has various branches concerned with different areas of knowledge. These branches include mathematics and logic, the physical sciences, the life sciences, and the social sciences.
